MIAS courses from Peak Pursuits are based in North Staffordshire and The Peak District.  Enabling candidates to lead groups off road biking; group management, responsibilities, navigation, access and conservation, technical skill, equipment and weather are all covered in this course.  Expert and friendly instruction and guidance are offered on this excellent value NGB course. The theory and maintenance elements of the course are run at Peak Pursuits Head Office located at Castle Hill, Nantwich Rd, Audley, Staffordshire, ST7 8DH. 

Typical Course Outline MIAS Levels 1 and 2

Day 1

09:00 Arrival. Introduction and outline of MIAS Scheme.
09:25 Access conservation and Basic First Aid.
09:50 Personal and Group Equipment.
10:20 Bike Anatomy.
10:50 Coffee Break.
11:10 Pre-ride Checks.
11:20 Warm Ups.
11.30 1st Cycle ride covering individual skills.
13:00 Lunch.
13:30 Group skills, leadership, situations, organisation & route planning.
14:45 2nd Cycle ride covering group skills.
16:30 Clean up and debrief 1. Brief for day 2.
17:00 Departure.

Day 2    
09:00 Arrival and Maintenance
10:40 Route Planning.

11:10 Group Organisation (Group Kit etc)
11:30 Coffee Break
11:45 3rd Ride incorporating individual skills, group skills & fitness levels.
13:15 Lunch en route.
15:45 Return clean up, debrief and individual review.
17:00 Latest departure time. Individuals may depart after personal review.
