OPEN GOLD EXPEDITIONS

**A minimum of 4 people is required for the gold expeditions to run**

Gold Level Qualifying Expeditions

WALKING - The Peak District, Lake District & Dartmoor - £250 per person

2008
Thur 27th March – Tues 1st April: Open Gold inThe Peak District

(aimed at those whose Easter holidays are in March)

Sun 6th – Fri 11th April: Open Gold in The Peak District
(aimed at those whose Easter holidays are in April)

Sun 25th – Fri 30th May: Open Gold - Dartmoor

Sun 6th – Fri 11th July: Open Gold in The Lake District
(aimed at those who have completed exams).
Rydal Hall, Ambleside
10am start on Day 1 for 2 days expedition training and preparation.
Bunkhouse Accommodation - accommodation details can be found on www.rydalhall.org
4day expedition. Personal equipment (rucksacks, sleeping bags, waterproofs) separately through Peak Pursuits. Group equipment (tents, cooking equipment and stoves) can be hired by arrangement.

Based in a bunkhouse your first two days will be spent reviewing the requirements of your expedition:

Emergency Procedures, First Aid, Navigation & Campcraft

Route planning is also included in the 2 days. Over this period you will develop into a team and decide your route for the following four day expedition.

DAY 1

AM : Your first morning wil be spent doing Teambuilding Activities, getting an overview of The Award requirements and checking your equipment .

PM : After lunch you will spend the afternoon undertaking a short walk with your instructor, honing emergency procedures and navigational skills.

EVE : As a group you will start to plan your forthcoming expedition route. Our instructor will be on hand to assist where required.

DAY 2

AM : Your 2nd morning will see you complete your route plan.

PM : Pack and prepare equipment. Any other matters regarding your expedition will be covered during the afternoon.

EVE: Free time to chill out before you start the next four days.

DAY 3 - 6

4 Day Qualifying Expedition through the beautiful Peak District.
