Neil Gilmour

Hi, I'm Neil. I've been taking people into the outdoors for over 10 years.  I'm qualified in open canoeing, kayaking, climbing, hill walking, power boating, mountain biking, first aid, and I have a certificate in cognitive rehabilitation .  My real love at the moment is snow sports; I ski, snowboard and telemark.  I also have experience of working with children and young people displaying challenging behaviour.  For the last few years I have been working  mainly with people with  traumatic brain injuries.

Interesting things you might like to know about me;

  • I'm scared of power kites, as I got dragged across a field full of cow pats and through a barb wire fence after I made my own harness and couldn't let go when the wind picked up!
  • I'm scared of cows for the same reason.
  • I'm learning to fly at the moment.
  • I live in one of the coldest places known to man - we only see sunshine on about 3 days per year.
  • I'm Scottish.  Yes I do have a kilt, and no, I can't tell you what you want to know...
Hope to see you out and about with Peak Pursuits soon!
