Peak District Walking Group Leader Training Courses
Walking Group Leader Qualifications from Peak Pursuits. Peak Pursuits is an accredited MLTE provider of WGL courses.
WGL Training and WGL Assessment qualifications are 3 day residential courses based in the Dark Peak region of the Peak District. We will cover all aspects of the Walking Group Leader Award Scheme. Peak Pursuits is an accredited MLTE provider of SPA courses.

· Group management
· Weather
Registration: Before attending a WGL course you must be registered for the WGL scheme, with a Mountain Leader Training Board and be a current member of the BMC or another mountaineering council.

Experience: Candidates should have at least 20 days experience of hill walking prior to attending the WGL Training Course.
Before attending the WGL Assessment course you
must:

Have completed a WGL training course
· Hold a valid first aid
certificate
· Have logged a minimum of
40 quality days experience in appropriate terrain, in at least 3
distinct areas of the UK and Ireland.
· Be a familiar with all
aspects of the WGL syllabus.
Timings: The first day of your course starts at 9am and you will finish on day 3 by 5pm.
Accommodation: Shared dormitory accommodation will be provided for the first night and you will be required to camp for the second night.
Meals: Please bring a packed lunch for day 1 and you will be required to bring food for the overnight camp other meals will be provided by the accommodation. For the overnight camp you will require: 1 evening Meal; 1 Breakfast and 1 packed lunch.
