Who will be responsible for me during the
week?
Our Peak Pursuits Team Leaders will be
looking after and running your day for you,
by the end of the week your Team Leaders
will just be another friend you’ve made.
You can call them by their name, we’re not a
school so no Sir and Miss please. They’ll
be there to help and guide you through the
week and they also hold a range of
qualifications to run your activities.
What will the day be like?
You will arrive at Peak Pursuits HQ between
8:00am and 9:00am where you will sign in
with a Peak Pursuits Team Leader, we will
then you can then introduce yourself to the
other young people or a Team Leader can do
that for you. We will have a couple games
consoles for you to play on until everyone
has arrived and it is time to leave for the
day’s activity. During this time you can
have some toast and jam and a drink of
juice. After the day’s activity we will
then return back to Peak Pursuits HQ for
4:00pm for you to sign out and be
collected. If you want to go home on your
own or with friends your parent or guardian
will have to give us permission to let you
go, by signing the box on the consent form.
What will I need to bring with me?
You will need to bring with you lunch,
snacks and drink for the day, we will
provide some toast and juice for you at the
beginning of the day.
You will need to bring with you suitable
clothing for the day’s activity. We advise
you wear older clothes which you don’t mind
getting dirty. It is best not to wear jeans
for the outdoor activities as they hold mud
and water and can become uncomfortable. You
will need to bring with you a change of
clothes and footwear for the outdoor
activity days. For the indoor days where
you may be doing art bring a top you won’t
mind getting paint on, or one of dads old
shirts. We will provide overalls for the
graffiti art.
We
will provide all specialist equipment for
activities, like bikes and helmets and
climbing and canoeing gear.
Is there anything I don’t need to bring
with me?
Do
not bring anything you don’t want to get
dirty, broken or lost. Items such as
watches, jewellery, personal stereos, hand
held computer games and mobile phones should
be left at home. Do not wear expensive
clothes or clothes you do not want to get
lost or ruined. Peak Pursuits cannot accept
responsibility for damage or to the loss of
any personal property.
Can I go with Friends?
Yes you can bring your friends, they will
need to book in the same way you will and
you must make sure there is space for you
all in the week or weeks you want to
attend. But don’t worry about not knowing
anybody you’ll make new friends during the
week, the Team Leaders will help you to meet
everyone.
Who else will be on a Peak Pursuits
Activity Week?
There will be other young people boys and
girls just like you looking for some fun and
adventure in the school holidays. There
will be two group one for the 10 to 13 year
olds and another for the 14 to 16 year olds.
Will I need any pocket money during the
day?
There won’t be any time to stop and buy
lunch, which is why we ask you to bring your
own, but at some of the locations we visit
there may be an opportunity to but an ice
cream, drink or some sweets (for your Team
Leaders!).
What if I have a problem during the week?
We
hope you don’t have a problem but if you do
don’t worry just talk to you Team Leader and
they will do everything to help you out. If
this doesn’t help you can talk to one of
your Senior Team Leaders.
