The BCU Star awards for canoe take in practical and theoretical aspects of paddling.

From the basics of lifting, carrying and launching, to mastering different stroke techniques, you will gain experience on the water before undertaking a short journey and assessment. Your instructor will guide you through safety practices, equipment information and environmental issues. Self awareness on the water and awareness of others is also a feature of the course, enabling you to enjoy responsible paddling.
