Abseiling

In this activity, participants climb to the top of our abseiling platform. You will then slowly step back over the edge of the tower for a controlled descent. Our fully trained and experienced instructors will support and encourage each participant to navigate down the wall, creating a sense of achievement.

Here at Peak we also offer abseiling experiences in the great outdoors with our Bridge Abseil day at Millers Dale Bridge.

Archery

Available at our Astbury, Trafford & Underbank sites:

Do you fancy yourself as an undiscovered Robin Hood?

Archery is a fantastic opportunity for participants of various ages to develop concentration, co-ordination, control and precision. Participants use a traditional bow to hit a target, which is geared to their age range and ability. As with all our outdoor activities, before the session our fully qualified instructors provide a thorough safety briefing on the equipment and activity.

As well as at three of our sites we also have mobile archery equipment which means we can deliver sessions at events throughout the UK – please call on 01782 22226 to enquire today!

Bushcraft

Available at our Astbury, Trafford, Underbank & Trentham sites:

Bushcraft is an exciting, adventure activity that teaches participants a wide range of skills necessary to survive in the wild! Participants will experience how to be resourceful and work together to complete tasks.

Various skills will be taught from constructing a shelter using natural materials, safely building and lighting a fire, foraging for food and sourcing safe, drinkable water.

This activity also provides participants with important life skills such as team work, communication, problem solving, creative and innovative thinking.

Canoeing

Available at our Astbury, Trafford, & Underbank sites:

A canoe is a vessel which is controlled by a single-bladed paddle where you sit in an upright position either on your own or in a tandem. Each participant is securely fitted with a buoyancy aid prior to venturing out onto the water. We use Canadian canoes which cater for 2-3 participants per vessel.

Each session will start with basic land safety including how to use the paddle, fit a buoyancy aid and how to stay safe on the water. For a beginners group we will provide knowledge of how to control the vessel on the water and finish with a mini race or games. For intermediate groups we will provide more technical information such as being confident in the water, rescue skills, safety leadership and group skills.

Climbing - Outdoor

We have multiple options when it comes to climbing here at Peak. We have our outdoor climbing tower that is available at our Underbank centre in Sheffield, this is a fixed tower that can be included in your day of activities.

Whichever type of climbing you choose the activity will develop the participant’s confidence, determination and sense of achievement.
