Inclusive Education Practitioner – Stoke on Trent

We are currently recruiting Inclusive Education Practitioners (IEPs) based at our education facility at Shelton, Stoke on Trent.

This role is term-time only* and is both a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with Special Educational Needs (SEN) learners who may frequently demonstrate challenging behaviours.

Academic results are achieved by delivering a bespoke package of basic academic learning including basic Maths, English and ICT etc. blended with a broad range of social enrichment learning. This is delivered through social activities such as cooking, art and music plus outdoor pursuits like walking/rambling, climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, raft building and many more!

We are looking for candidates age 18+ who ideally have previous experience perhaps within a youth work environment or teaching background. Our students are typically aged between 11 years to 16 years so you must be comfortable interacting with this age group. You must hold a full UK driving license and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

As an Inclusive Education Practitioner you will be supported by our education management team and will contribute to the development of apprentices by acting as a role model.

The role involves development of progressive curriculum based learning, preparation of learning material, delivery of learning objectives, marking and ongoing achievement assessment.

Interaction with parents/care givers and daily reporting is a also a key feature; full support is provided.

In addition to job specific training such as first aid, de-escalation and restraint and safeguarding, a range of training opportunities are available* for staff through local colleges and online learning portals.

Salary is based on National Living Wage with a progressive salary structure managed through annual performance reviews. (Pro rata to 39 weeks.)

*Term Time Only: 40 hours per week, typically 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday-Friday, Term time only (39 weeks per year) plus inset days/training days outside term time.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £16,286.40 per year, pro rata (£12,214.80)

Holidays: Set holidays in line with term time, statutory holiday entitlement, pro rata, paid monthly

Experience: Working with children: 1 year (Required), SEN environment: 1 year (Preferred)

Education: GCSE or equivalent (Required)

Licence: Full, Clean UK driving (Required)
